Nutella Marbled Banana Bread

I love Nutella. But unlike most people who tried Nutella for the first time spread on a crusty slice of baguette while travelling Europe, I tried it in the good ol’ USA. I remember going to a friend’s house one day and hearing her rave about the stuff for hours. Once I got home I immediately I asked my Mom to drive me to the grocery store. She agreed and we bought my first jar of the chocolate hazelnut goodness. It was rich, chocolate-y, and decadent. I knew I was in love. Although, now that I think of it, my first jar of “Nutella” wasn’t really Nutella at all. It was generic Shop-Rite Chocolate Hazelnut Spread. Nevertheless, the jar was gone in less than a week!
[Fast forward to July 3rd, 2010] I remember that day like it was yesterday. It was a hot summer’s day, when I started my first blog. I was craving Nutella like crazy and had the urge to bake. After a quick peek at some of my favorite food blogs I knew exactly what to make. Nutella Marbled Banana Bread. [To see one of my old embarrassing posts about it, click here.]
The bread was oh-so-moist and delicious that I proceeded to make it again and again. My love for this banana bread is so strong that, while tempted by other delicious desserts , I remained faithful and made it for the 4th time last weekend in celebration of being Nutella-free for the entire Lenten season.
After being tortured for an extra hour and a half while the bread was baking and cooling, I cut myself a hearty slice and topped it with a small pat of butter. The verdict? It was just as good as I remembered it. If not better!
Rich, flavorful, moist, decadent, and delicious are all words that can be used to describe this bread, but I believe it is deserving of words even better. Words like amazing and epic. Maybe even Heavenly…seriously, it is that good!
You have to make this bread. I guarantee you’ll like it and proceed to finish the entire loaf in 4 days like I did.
Thanks for posting such a Heavenly recipe, Brandi! I love it!

I didn’t think that banana bread could get any better and then you had to go all Nutella on it
That sounds soooo good! I actually remember the first time I tried nutella. I was at my friends house! We spread it on toast and it was oh so delicious. I prefer Justin’s chocolate hazelnut butter now, but I still love nutella flavored things (gelato please?)
Your photos are beautiful. I absolutely love looking at them! The one with the pat of butter is making me drool.
Oh. My. Goodness. This looks like the most amazing thing everrrr… boyfriend JUST threw away a bunch of bananas and I should have saved them for thisss!
Nutella!! I’m seriously addicted right now! My mom bought me some from costco and I cant put it down. Omg. Its seriously dangerous for me! haha
this looks so freakin good it would be lucky if it made it two days in my house!
Omg that looks delicious. I can’t imagine a bread that tastes like nutella!! Gah I want
I tried Nutella in France for the first time! I can actually say that, now I feel cool cause I’ve been there once.
In France, they had it everyday out on the breakfast table.

This looks AMAZING! I love Nutella! I tried it for the first time in the US, but when I was visiting a friend in Italy, I had it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I will definitely be making this bread

Mmm, Nutella bread! I’ve been known to make Nutella crepes with raspberry compote at my house, but I’ve never tried Nutella bread
Mmmm…Nutella crepes sound so good! Can I come over?!
Oh man! This is the second banana bread recipe I’ve bookmarked today. Nutella!? You just had to go there, huh? SOLD! Nutella is…heavenly.
Oh my gosh, this looks heavenly. The jar of nutella in the kitchen is calling my name…
Heaven on a plate!!
Yum! This looks fantastic!! I’ve made this bread before and seriously ate the whole loaf in two sittings..alone! Love nutella (even if it isn’t the healthiest of nutbutters!)
I too love Nutella, and while I am one of ones who first tried it in Europe, my story was far less glamorous in that I ate it drunk on toast in Ireland.
Oh, to be 18 again.
This bread looks WONDERFUL!
Nutella is so so good!!! The idea of using it in a bread is great!! Awesome job as always, girl!
Nutella was one of my favourite parts of visiting Italy. I don’t buy it here because it was a special thing I ate only there. I think I might try to make my own nutella just to make this banana bread!
Can we officially declare ourselves bffs already? Bananas and nutella are one of my favorite combinations ever. The fact that you’ve added the whole bread aspect just makes me giggle with joy
Sounds good to me, BFF!
This looks perfect! Anything with nutella is instantly amazing in my book.
OMG this looks AMAZING!!! I LOVE banana bread AND nutella! Def going on my list of things to make!
I just found your blog! I love it…fellow teen blogger right here
i think i just ate half the loaf today!!! i agree… after waiting an hour for it to bake, i just couldn’t stop eating it!!! i don’t know how you added butter- its so rich! well maybe it was because i replaced the hazelnuts with mini chocolate chips!!!
I have a confession to make. I ate half the loaf in like 2 hours. Oops. i just realized i did the same thing last time i made it.. this time i didn’t even add chocolate chips OR hazelnuts. Its too dangerous for me to make, i have to immediately freeze some of it!!!
