Triple Chocolate Nutella Cookies
May 1st, 2011 § 45 Comments
I don’t consider myself a chocoholic, but lately I’ve been craving chocolate like it’s my job. I’m not complaining. Dark chocolate chips, brownies, pudding, jars of Nutella. They all have no chance when it comes to my ravenous appetite. Again, I’m not complaining.
A few days ago, in between eating spoonfuls of Nutella straight from the jar, I got a crazy idea. It went a little something like this: “Must. Have. More. Chocolate. Must. Make. Chocolate. Nutella. Cookies.”
Desperate times called for desperate measures. I immediately searched the internet for a recipe, but came back empty-handed. That didn’t stop me, however, as I just made up my own recipe!
These cookies are filled with cocoa powder, dark chocolate chips, and Nutella. They are cake-like, fluffy, and sweet without being too sweet. In other words, they were a chocoholic’s dream. Me likey.
Triple Chocolate Nutella Cookies
“Soft and fluffy chocolate cookies spiked with half a jar of Nutella. They are sure to bring out your inner chocoholic.”
Ingredients:
- ¾ cup Nutella
- ½ cup applesauce
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 2 tablespoons agave
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup + 2 tablespoons sugar
- ¼ cup + 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ cup dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease a large baking sheet and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, mix all wet ingredients (Nutella, applesauce, oil, and agave) until smooth. Add all remaining ingredients and mix until well-combined.
- Form cookie dough into spheres slightly smaller than ping-pong balls. Bake for 13-15 minutes.
Yield: 18 cookies
These cookies didn’t faze me whatsoever. I’ve already eaten five. They’re just so good!
Maybe I am a chocoholic after all. And I’m OK with that.

I’m a chocoholic too… I love these cookies! I’ve never had nutella… I have maranatha do you think that would work!?
What flavor? You could sub any different nut butter in the recipe in place of Nutella, but it might change the taste slightly.
Those look fantastic!!
When does your cookbook come out?!
Hi!
Did you ever send emails to the chobani winners? I never got one
Yes, and I sent one to you too. Maybe it went to your spam folder by accident? I’ll send another one right now!

These would be a hit in my family!
OMG drool! The only thing holding me back from making these is apple sauce.

Haha. You could always use pureed pumpkin instead!
