About Me
Erika Rojek.
- Just a 15-year old girl who likes food; usually healthy and sometimes not!
- Just a high school girl trying to balance food, friends, school, and life.
- A teenage girl who can cook and kick your butt!
- A 15-year old blogger, foodie, black belt, runner, and nut butter addict.
Whenever I try to write posts solely about me, myself, and I I tend to draw a blank. The only things I can think of are the above bullet points. I had to stop in the middle of writing this post about 374 times because I just didn’t know what to write about, but don’t worry, I finally got it done. The sentence structure might be a little bit off and my adjectives could have been a little more descriptive, but I don’t care. I’m a baker not a writer.

First of all, I’d like to start off by saying welcome! Welcome to The Teenage Taste! I hope my recipes make you drool, my corny jokes make you laugh, and you enjoy yourself here.
I’m Erika and I love all things food. I like to make food, buy food, look at food, and most of all, eat food! Some of my favorite foods are nut butters, bread, dessert, and roasted veggies. In that order. I think homemade foods are the best kind of foods, which is one of the reasons why I love baking and cooking. Baking is my favorite though.
I’ve been helping my Mom out in the kitchen since I was a little girl and when I finally was old enough to work the oven and stove by myself my hobby really began to take off. In my household, Saturday and Sunday mornings from 7:00 to 11:00 in the morning, the kitchen is closed because I’m in the kitchen. I like to think my family doesn’t bother me because I am an artist at work, but deep down I know the real reason they don’t bother me is because I make a huge mess and anyone who enters the kitchen for even a minute will exit covered in flour, sugar, and whatever else I’m using at that moment. Oops.
My other activities, outside of cooking, baking, and blogging, are running, Karate, hanging out with friends, and Girl Scouts. Currently I run Cross Country and Spring Track at my high school and run 5Ks with my little brother, Phil, in my free time. I do Karate 2-3 times a week and earned my Black Belt in December of 2010. I love point sparring and am known for my head-level roundhouse kick at my Karate dojang. I’ve been a Girl Scout since first-grade and I’m still going strong. I’m currently a 3rd year Cadette and working towards my Silver Award and love camping with my Girl Scout troop. And last, but not least, I love hanging out with friends like all teenagers do. I like to think of myself as the comedian of my group because I’m always cracking jokes and goofing around. People who don’t know me think I’m quiet, but people who do wish I was.

Thanks for taking the time to read all of this. I hope I didn’t bore you too much! Check back soon for more recipes. I plan on posting at least two times a week.

I know everyone is like, “OMG, I can’t believe your only 15.” But seriously, I can’t believe you’re only 15. I wish I knew you when I was 15 because I wouldn’t have felt so weird for running/baking my life away! I can totally relate to the “about me” section dilemma. As you’ll see, mine is just… Well, a mess. I’m SO glad I found your blog! I can’t wait to whip up some of your creations!

Take Care
Just wanted to say hello as I keep popping in her every so often! You have a really catchy title, when I’m thinking on all the blogs I would like to check or have looked at before yours always comes to mind. It also helps that you like baking, are a teenager (and teenagers are curious beings I know I am still one but I’m nearly not 1.5 years to go), and run cross-country… and seem to just be cutie pie to boot! So hello there I really enjoy checking in on your blog every so often to see what you are up to.
And I really appreciated that Reese Concomption! I think I looked at the page more then a 100 times while deciding weather to make it or not and then ended up making it! (Maybe a 100x is an exaggeration, but really I looked at it quite a bit!)
Merry Christmas <3

Hi Erika. I love your blog and the ways you find to write about food that can even interest someone like me who is only interested in books. That’s why I nominated you for the Kreativ Blogger Award. You can see it here: http://cartoondramas.wordpress.com/2012/03/17/awards/
