You knew this post was coming.
Don’t lie, I know you were anxiously waiting for it.
Don’t lie, I know you kinda freaked out a bit when I went MIA for three days.
For those of you that didn’t pick up on my not-so-subtle hint in my Cake Batter Cheesecake Bar post , I’m hosting a giveaway in honor of The Teenage Taste’s 1-year Blog Birthday. It’s not much, but I thought it would be fun to do a giveaway featuring some of “Erika’s Favorite Things.” You know, like Oprah’s Favorite Things, but more foodielicious!
Up for grabs is:
- 1 bag of Aged White Cheddar Pirate’s Booty
- 1 bag of Kettle Salt & Vinegar Chips
- 1 bag of Seapoint Farms Wasabi Dry-Roasted Edamame
- 2 Clif Mojo bars (Mountain Mix & Peanut Butter Pretzel)
- 1 jar Nutella
- Ferrero Rochers
How to enter:
- (Mandatory!) Leave a comment on this post about what you like about The Teenage Taste and/or what you think I should do to improve The Teenage Taste!
- Follow me on Twitter (@TheTeenageTaste) and tweet “GIVEAWAY ALERT! I want to win some of Erika’s favorite snack foods @TheTeenageTaste blog! http://wp.me/p1pFaQ-2kO ” and leave a comment telling me you did so!
The giveaway ends this Sunday, March 18th and is only open to residents of the U.S.A. and Canada!
Good luck and, as usual, thank you so much for reading my blog!

Have you ever woken up to the smell of homemade waffles and freshly-cooked bacon?
Ah, what an experience! The euphoria you experience when you first wake up. Seriously, there is just nothing better.
At least, that’s what my parents tell me. I wouldn’t know.
Don’t get me wrong, though. Waking up early and making breakfast for your family has it’s advantages too! First off, you’re in charge of making whatever you want. That’s just plain awesome. You’re the boss!
Then once you decide that you want to make this bacon you get to cut off some of the fatty ends and nibble on them while preparing the rest of the bacon. Admit it, everyone has done that at one point or another.
Next comes the waffles. Dust off your trusty waffle maker and allow it to preheat for a bit. Meanwhile you can start whipping up a batch of your favorite waffle batter or, if your feeling a little lazy like me, you can just use a boxed mix. Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.
Pour the batter into the waffle maker and bake according to your waffle maker’s manual. By now you should be smelling the bacon. (I prefer the bacon on the side but you could also crumble it and mix it into the waffle batter.) Drooling will ensue and your stomach will probably start rumbling. Just hold on for 5 more minutes…
…and there you go. Breakfast is served!
Yeah, it’s totally worth the labor. Or not, if you’re one of those [lucky] people who had someone make this for you.
Perhaps I should casually slip a print-out of this post on the kitchen table a few days before finals? Maybe then my parents will get the hint and I’ll be in such a good mood that I will get A+++’s on all of my finals. Wishful thinking…
Have an awesome day! I hope you are enjoying your long weekend!

To say that I missed the bus when it comes to Pinterest would be an understatement. Oversleeping, watching the bus pass by my front window while hurrying to get my bags, chasing the bus 2 blocks down, and then finally getting on sounds more like it. Not that that has ever happened to me before or anything.
For the past few months it seems like Blog World has been in a Pinterest frenzy. When the frenzy first began I signed up, pinned a few recipes, and then got bored. I hadn’t logged into my account for months until yesterday when I became enlightened. Photography, interior decorating ideas, and recipes galore!
This Pinterest thing is a goldmine! I literally spent hours yesterday going on a pinning palooza when I should have been doing a reflection on my Chemistry project. It was awesome! (Going on a pinning palooza, not working on my Chemistry project.)
During the palooza I came across so many delicious recipes I knew I just had to share them with you. Try not to drool too much.

Easy Apple Cheese Danish from What’s Cookin, Chicago?
